Lift Off
NASA was created in 1958. Its major goals were set to reach behind the thinkable. NASA has made many feets in the technological and aerospace fields and some of which have turned to the commercial markets in which regular people like you and I use. NASA has shown the human race its place in the universe and has taught us a different view point of which to see ourselves and Earth from.

The Missions
How do they make it work?
The set examples of NASA in terms of unsuccessful and successful were based on whether or not the astronauts made it home safely, however it is not to say that these failures were not blessings in disguise because NASA did learns things from the failed mission. We can tell that a huge team is needed to make these missions run smoothly and its a complicated network of people who run NASA. However, in a team such as this, team members have to communicate properly and accurately because it can result in deadly scenarios. Being able to learn about the previous mission's problems and then experiment to create much safer future missions is incredibly important and so leadership has to be able to listen to all areas within a group. That is the only way NASA can have successful missions. Also, when one team members slacks off, this creates a cause and effect scenario in which other team members and their work will be affected. This creates a huge disadvantage for a team such as NASA because all the parts have to go together and work properly. If one part does not work like the o-ring example, it can cause a stressful situation. However, like I said before NASA learned form their mistakes and have fixed problems that caused the two explosions up above to enhance their world class safety measures.
