The History of Lady LibertyIt is generally known that the face behind the Statue of Liberty was a Parisian by the name of Edouard De Laboulaye. He was born January 18, 1811 in Paris, France. However, he was otherwise known as the "Father of the Statue of Liberty". He was advocate of abolition and a prominent of supporter of President Abraham Lincoln. He believed in the "common law of free peoples" in which every individual had a right to freedom. So it was no surprise when he proposed a monument be created as a constant reminder of the United States' ideals. This occurred after the Union won the Civil War creating a platform as a way to honor the United States and also facilitate discussion of democracy within France's own government. His dream was realized in 1875 when his proposal for said monument was approved and given the name of "Liberty Enlightening the World." He truly wanted to highlight the French-American alliance as a way for his country to learn from the United States' troubles. Hopefully, in the end, it was his dream to inspire the French to want more for themselves in terms of freedom and standing within their own government. America was a beacon of hope and he desired a place where freedom and justice reigned true for all.

Meet the Team
How did they make it work?
Within this example of a working team, we see that all of these gentlemen are leaders within their own field within their own country. So in this instance, communication plays a major role in collaboration for such a huge goal of creating this monument and then transferring it to the United States. Each person within this team had their own separate goals in which they had to reach in order to me the team's overall goal. Each indiviual had to make sure that their own part was done so that there were no road blocks keeping the monument from reaching its destination. It is important to have team members who work and can perform said tasks like the gentlemen up above. When there are indiviuals to do nto perfomr, it hinders the others and can caise a great disadvantage. Also, this is where we see a great example of tasks being handed out to the right people in which a team can satisfy a number of problems by allowing each person with specific strengths deal with those issues and then communicate with the rest of the group. I would also like to emphasize the use of leadership in which can either be a major disadvantage or advantage. Up above, it is seen that the monument had two French architects, one was replaced. Faulty leadership can cause a team to go off course, however having a great leader can push the team to make things happen that otherwise would not get done.
